Hey everyone!!

So this post isn't really about a book, but it kind of is... I've been working on writing a lot of stories lately and ended up posting one online, there's about 35 pages of it out there and I would really appreciate some feedback if anyone would like to take a look. Eyes Like Stars by Lisa Mantchev

Hey everyone! I finished this book a couple days ago, it was great!!

Story:

ENTER STAGE RIGHT....

Beatrice Shakespeare Smith has known nothing but the Theatre. She grew up there and has never stepped foot outside it's enchanted walls. Along with Bertie, the cast from every play that the Theatre performs lives there too, magically bound within the Theatre's walls. Although she loves her friends, Cobweb, Moth, Mustardseed and Peaseblossom (four mischievous fairies) and her heart skips a beat every time Nate - a gorgeous, overprotective, superstitious pirate - walks in the room, Bertie knows that she's missing something. She doesn't remember how she got to the Theatre, has never met either of her parents, and has a gnawing feeling that she knows more than she thinks. Trying again and again to reenact her arrival to the Theatre, hoping to uncover something she missed before, Bertie will never quite trying to defog her murky past. But when the Theatre begins to fall apart at the seems, Bertie must try to piece it back together and hope to find a match within the ruble for her unfinished puzzle of a life.

This was a really amazing book! It was a totally unique idea and the author did such a good job with it! The characters are amazing (especially Nate) and even though it's a world of magic, the story is very believable! I give it a 5 out of 5 and recommend it to Shakespeare, fantasy and theater fans! Personally, I can't wait to get my hands on the sequel!

The Ask and The Answer by Patrick Ness

Hey! I finished this book last week but haven't gotten a chance to post about it until just now! I'll try to write without giving away too much about the first book, but that's a little difficult to do so if you haven't read the first one... well... sorry.

Story: WARNING may contain spoilers.

Todd Hewitt and Viola Eade, forced together by the Mayors evil plotting and then pulled apart for the same reason... Not knowing where Viola is, or if she's even still alive is torture for Todd, not to mention the fact that he has to work with the man who shot her, Davy Prentiss, overseeing Spackle labor. By day he is in the field, watching the Spackle's pale hands lift rocks, their accusing eyes on him at all time, and by night he is locked in a cathedrals bell tower, inches away from freedom that he can never obtain. But when bombs start going off in the city and he feels like Viola is farther away than ever before, Todd struggles even more, fighting not to stray from his beliefs, and thinking that the grass possibly appears slightly greener on the Mayors side.

Viola Eade wakes up to all white, which is strange since hell is supposed to be flaming. All she knows is that Todd isn't there. Her bullet wound aches with her every move and the people tending to her are kind but seem to be shrouded in shadows and whispered secrets. The Mayor keeps coming to visit her, acting much more friendly than she though possible, but he won't tell her where Todd is, if he's safe, or if he's even still alive. She finds herself torn between two promises when the bombs start going off and soon must hunt down the dreaded Answer.

"I AM THE CIRCLE AND THE CIRCLE IS ME."

This book is absolutely amazing, much like it's predecessor. The characters feel a lot like friends now, and even now I feel panicked for their safety as I wait longly for the third installment. I give it a 100 out of 5 and highly recommend it to sci-fi fans and people who love action-packed books!

The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness

My sister visited from college two weeks ago and during our traditional trip to Barnes and Noble I stumbled upon this book. I was a little suspicious at first but it turned out to be great!

Story:

Todd Hewitt is almost grown up. After twelve years of thirteen months on New World he is counting down the days until he turns 13 and finally becomes a man. But, to his great frustration, the day is not coming nearly soon enough and for now, he's stuck picking apples and tending to the sheep. He's the only boy left in Prentisstown, the only boy in a down with 147 men. All of the women, including Todd's mother, were killed by the Noise Germ only a little while after he was born. Besides the lack of women in their society, Prentisstown has many qualities that set it apart from the Old World. For example, everyone has Noise. Meaning everyone in the town can hear everyone else's thoughts. After being sent to the crocodile-infested swamp to pick apples Todd stumbles upon something, or rather, nothing. There's a space in the swamp where there is absolutely no noise. The silence is deafening to Todd, it feels like there's something cut out from inside of him when he gets closer to it and although he's made a staggering discovery, one that might even help Prentisstown he can't shake the feeling that he needs to keep it to himself, but how can he when everyone can hear and search his Noise? After being forced to leave Prentisstown, almost being murdered numerous times and finding something so strange that Todd can hardly even comprehend it, he must try to make it to the a settlement that is rumored to have a cure for the Noise. The journey is difficult enough for a 12 (technically 14 year old if you're counting by 12 month years) year old boy without all the dangers he meets along the way and the fact that there's an entire army after him.

"No one knows why. Still don't. Our scientists were mainly agriculturalists and the doctors couldn't find a reason and so for a while, there was chaos. Just...chaos like you wouldn't believe. Chaos and confusion and Noise, Noise, Noise."

This was an amazing book! It got to the point where whenever I had to stop reading I would almost cry and say "do I have to put it down?!" The main characters are amazing, it makes me feel like I've lost friends by finishing it, and not having the second book is torturing me. I'd highly recommend it to Sci-fi fans and people who like a lot of action in books. As for a rating I would give this story a 10 out of 5!

Nobody's Princess by Esther Friesner

An adventure at Barnes and Noble with some awesome friends of mine led me to getting this book...

Story:

Helen is the princess of Sparta. Her future is laid out before her with every fashionable, glamorous detail in order. She will be marry, become queen, rule the city of Sparta with her perfect new husband and have a daughter who will take her place one day. Helen will spend her days making clothing, weaving and doing embroidery with her sister, Clytemnestra, forever sheltered from the things her brothers, Castor and Polydeuces, get to do. And that, well... that's just not good enough for Helen. At the age of seven she decides that she wants to learn how to fight because she's sick of getting everything just because she's "beautiful." After being told by her brother that he'll teach her as soon as she can catch him (and failing miserably to do so as he raced down the hall away from her) she begins running whenever she has the chance. Three years later, she follows her brothers to their lesson with high hopes of learning some of their skills for herself. Two years later it is announced that Clytemnestra will be leaving the kingdom to go marry a prince in one of the neighboring cities. Polydeuces, Castor, a group of guards and, after some smooth talking on her part, Helen accompany her and thus begins the journey of a lifetime. Doing everything from hunting a rabid boar to falling backwards off of a horse to befriending people she never thought she would even talk to, Helen gets a taste of the addicting flavor of freedom.

"'...you're beauty will make Zeus himself fall in love with you and put your image up there as well, for us ordinary men to see and envy.'

'I can think of better reasons to end up among the stars,' I said, smiling."

So I had my expectations set pretty dang high when I began this book, I had gotten many recommendations and such for it, and I have to say... it failed to meet them. It had promise when it started out but the plot line was so repetitive that I felt like I could recite the main theme backwards and forwards by the time I was finished. Though it wasn't as gripping as I'd hoped I have to admit that the descriptions were amazing and it was very easy to picture everything the author was describing. So, if you can put up with repetition and like Greek mythology I would recommend this book, but otherwise I'm going to have to give an "eh" kind of rating. I would say it was about a 2.5-3 out of 5.

The Exiled Queen by Cinda Williams Chima

So this trilogy is my latest obsession, my last post talked about The Demon King, which is the first book and now it's my pleasure to introduce to you The Exiled Queen.

Story: WARNING: THIS WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVEN'T READ THE FIRST BOOK!!

Han Alister, along with his list of names has had many titles. He's been a streetlord, a trader, a guardian, a student, an older brother, a best friend and a son. Now he gets to add another word to the list: wizard. After having lost his mother, sister and house, he is hiding, yet again, in Marisa Pines Camp. He and his best friend Dancer, who turns out to be a wizard himself, are packing and reading themselves to go to Mystwerk Academy, the wizarding school in Oden's Ford. Trekking across lands where wizards are despised, they meet all sorts of obstacles, including Han's old girlfriend Cat, who ends up joining them, intending to enroll in the Temple School at Oden's Ford. But the challenges don't end once they enter the so called peace of the schools, in fact, they've hardly begun. Micha and Fiona Bayar are also attending Mystwerk and they are determined to get the amulet the Han stole from the back at all costs. Not to mention the fact that Han runs into the girl he kidnapped a few months prior, Rebecca.

Meanwhile, after running from a forced marriage, Princess Heir Raisa ana'Marianna, a.k.a. Rebecca Morley, is traveling with Amon and his triple of guards to Wien House, the school for training soldiers in Oden's Ford. After suffering through the journey there, she settles into her new life at school rather nicely. That is until she sees Cuffs Alister riding onto campus two weeks into classes. She successfully avoids any contact with him until the night of solstice when she is jumped by a drunk teacher and Cuffs was apparently following her. She knows that Cuffs, or Han as he is now known, is dangerous, but she is still drawn to him by something more than his devastatingly good looks and brilliant smile. More surprising than him even showing up in wizarding school (since last time they were together there was nothing magical about him) is the request he comes to her with: tutoring. Hesitantly at first she accepts, skipping over telling Amon that she is spending most of her free time with a known criminal and, instead, enjoying the intoxicating way that Han smiles at her. That is until things go horribly wrong.

"'Rai,' Amon said, taking her hands in his. 'Whatever you do, don't fall in love with him.'

Raisa nodded, knowing it was already too late."

This series is now one of my favorites. The first one was great, but this one was mind-blowing. I couldn't put it down and every moment that it wasn't within arms reach I slipped into a mini panic attack. Han, Raisa, Dancer and Amon are as awesome and lovable as ever, just as Micha and Fiona are even more vile than they were in the first book. I give this book an 11 out of 5 and highly recommend it to, well, everyone.

The Demon King - Cinda Williams Chima

Hey! So I got this book a few weeks ago on a whim. My mom and I were at Barnes and Noble and it's virtually impossible for me to leave there without a book. This book started out kind of slow but really picked up after a while.

Story:

Sixteen year old Hans Alister is known by many different names, it all depends on where he is at the time. At home, while being yelled at my his mom and stared at with wide, adoring eyes by his sister, Mari, he is Hanson. When he's in Marisa Pines Camp, hunting for deer with his friend Dancer and scouting the territory that he knows by heart, he's Hunts Alone. And when he leaves the relative safety of his home and enters Ragmarket or Southbride he's Cuffs, the dangerous, merciless streetlord of a gang called the Raggers. But no matter where he is or what name people are calling him at the time, it doesn't change the fact that he can barely make enough money to put food on the table for his mom and sister. When he and Dancer are hunting one day, run into a trio of amateur wizards and end up stealing a powerful amulet from them Hans life begins to turn upside down. Someone is murdering members of an enemy gang called the Southies and the Bluejacket's (the royal guard) main suspect is Han, after seeking shelter in the Southbridge Temple one of the guards finds him while escorting a strange and intriguing girl to visit with one of the temples Speakers.

Meanwhile - Princess heir Raisa ana'Marianna longs to escape the confines of the castle walls and live with her father in Clan territory, near Marisa Pines Camp. She will do anything to spite her mother, Queen Marianna ana'Rissa, including harboring a forbidden relationship with Micah Bayar, the son of the High Wizard. But when her best friend, Amon Byrne returns after three years of soldier training at Oden's Ford her feelings start to twist into intricate knots inside of her. The one thing that she can focus on, that she knows for sure, is that she isn't getting the whole story of what is happening in the towns of Southbridge and Ragmarket. Convincing Amon to smuggle her out of the castle she goes Southbridge Temple to talk to one of the Speakers there. That is where she meets a dangerous, fascinating boy who is her key to discovering what hides beneath her mothers pretty lies about the ongoings of street life.

"'I think you're a Ragger at Heart,' he'd said. It wasn't true.

He's been a free spirit, and Raisa was everybody's prisioner.

Was death the price of freedom?"

This book was great, at first it was a bit slow, but after I got past the first few scenes I was unable to put it down. It was like a fifth appendage and I have to say that I was very okay with that. The characters are intriguing to the point where I was lying awake at night wondering about them. I rank it a strong 4.5 out of 5 and recommend it to all of my fellow fantasy lovers!

Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

I've been anxiously awaiting the release of this book for, oh, probably the last year. The countdown clocks have been saved and bookmarked on my computer and, yes, I frequent the fan pages. What can I say? I love The Mortal Instruments and this is the beginning of an amazing prequel trilogy! Have I mentioned it's awesome?

Story:

After having lost everything, Tessa Gray boards the Main and heads to England to live with her brother. She's picked up on the docks by a pair of strange women and their equally creepy coachman who produce a note from her brother assuring her that Mrs. Black and Mrs. Dark (a.k.a. the Dark Sisters) are his friends and can be trusted. Tessa doesn't feel right about them, but she trusts her brother and leaves with the sisters. She then spends the next six weeks kidnapped by the sisters and is forced to learn how to use a shape shifting power she never knew she possessed in order to keep them from killing her brother. On the night the Dark Sisters are going to introduce her to a man named the Magister who is supposed to become her new husband, Tessa is rescued. Shadowhunters attack the Dark House and save Tessa from the Sisters. Thus begins another journey where Tessa is introduced to the Shadow World and makes it her mission to destroy the Magister and save her brother from an horrible fate.

"So you're saying I am right. This is what is real, and the life I had before was the dream."

"That is correct...And now it is time to wake up"

I couldn't put this book down, I read it in about two or three days, stopping only for the occasional lunch break. The characters are so incredibly lovable that I now feel like I've lost some great friends by finishing the story. I highly HIGHLY recommend it to pretty much anyone who loves fantasy. This book ranks around 1000 out of 5... yes, folks, it's possible.

Burned by PC Cast and Kristin Cast

I've been waiting for quite some time to read this book and - YIPPEE!! - I finally got to it! It's the seventh book in The House of Night series, so if you haven't already read the other five and are planning to, you might not want to read the summary. Anyway - it's a great series!

Story: (again, don't say I didn't warn you about the spoilers)

After having her soul shattered, Zoey is trapped, seemingly permanently in the Otherworld with Heath. The Otherworld is a limbo between life and death that Zoey's friends are determined to save her from. "The Nerd Herd" is frantic, Stark is enraged, Aphrodite is as annoying as usual and Neferet, of course, has a plan. She wants Zoey gone, and what better way to do that then to make sure that she never returns from the Otherworld? Sending Kalona's spirit after Zoey to the Otherworld, Neferet concocts yet another evil plot, one that could end everything that Zoey and her friends have been working towards. With no other options, Stark is forced to follow Kalona in order to protect Zoey from the dangers that lurk within the shadows of the Otherworld. In a race against time, will Stark be able to free Zoey from eternal wandering in the seemingly peaceful world of death?

This book was pretty darn good - I have to say that I had my doubts about the authors ability to continue the story after six books, but they definitely proved me wrong! The characters are as lovable as always, the plot is engaging and, like all the House of Night books, it was difficult to put down. I give it a strong 4 out of 5 and highly recommend it to all the vampire lovers out the vampire lovers out there!

Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead

So... I couldn't resist. The Grapes of Wrath was so sickeningly boring that I HAD to read something that didn't numb my brain. This is the 5th book in a series called Vampire Academy so I'll try to write the description without too many spoilers.

Story:

Rose Hathaway's life has been flipped inside out, turned upside down and been generally shaken around nonstop for the past few months. Ever since she returned to St. Vladamir's Academy things have been anything but normal. But all of this chaos has, at least, had a purpose. Graduation. And now, that day is here. Rose finally gets to escape the walls of the Academy and venture out into the real world on official Guardian duty. But if she thought that life on the outside would be any easier, she was sadly mistaken. Her best friend, Lissa, and boyfriend, Adrian, are still struggling to gain control of Spirit (the element that they control), Queen Tatiana seems to be out to get her and, on top of all of that, the love-of-her-life-turned-bad, Dimitri, is waiting for when she steps outside the protection of the Royal Court so he can kill her. In this thrilling 5th installment of the Vampire Academy Rose will, inevitably, gain new enemies, make new friends, fall in and out of love and face some of the most difficult challenges yet.

This book blew my mind. Of course so have all of it's predecessors. Rose, Lissa and all of the other characters capture your hearts and never let them go. This series is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone who loves action, fantasy and a little high school drama. I would definitely give this book 5 out of 5 if not more! And, I promise you, it's nothing like Twilight.

Just an Update

Hey Everyone!

<--(first off... ya like the picture? I had to find a random one, since this isn't about a book... :D)

I just wanted to give you an update - I, hopefully, will be posting about a new book in the near future, but I've been super busy! Plus, I'm not allowing myself to start any books for fun until I finish reading The Grapes of Wrath for my advanced american literature class. So far, I wouldn't suggest that one... at all... just, don't even look at it. It's a negative on my rating scale. I think that might be partly because it's homework... and it's summer who has homework during the summer???? well, I guess I do... anyway, I just wanted to let you know what was going on!

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner by Stephenie Meyer

Hey, so, I wasn't sure if this book was going to be that great, but, it was actually pretty good!

Story:

Bree Tanner was your average 14 year old runaway in Seattle, that is, until she met Riley, the nice, understanding guy who bought her food when she was on the brink of starvation. Though she expected he would want payment for his kindness, she had no idea what he really had in mind. Now, three months into life as a vampire in Riley's coven, Bree meets Diego. He's different then the rest, not completely focused on getting blood and hunting. Living in a house of newborn vampires is dangerous, always having to watch your back in case someone gets mad and decides to rip off a limb or two. But, with Diego, Bree feels relaxed, even safe, for the first time in three months. They form a two person group which they name "The Ninja Club" and spend any time they can together. They also figure out that Riley has been lying, and that their supposed to take on an older, more experienced coven of yellow-eyed vampires. Diego and Bree plan to figure it out together, but when Diego goes missing - apparently scouting ahead for the attack - and Bree gets an offer to run from the rest of the coven, up to Vancouver, will the two friends be able to keep The Ninja Club together?

I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book, since it's a companion novel of the Twilight Saga and companion books aren't normally my favorite things to read. Also, I'd already formed my opinions about the characters, having read about them in Eclipse. But, as it turned out, I was pleasantly surprised. This book doesn't rank as one of my favorites, but there's a possibility of me reading it again. The characters were lovable, and the plot line was engaging. I'd rate this as a 3.5 out of five and recommend it to all the "Twi-hards" out there. :D

The Summoning by Kelly Armstrong

Hey everyone :) sorry I haven't posted for a while, I've been extra busy with school. Anyway, I just finished this awesome book! It's sooooooooo good and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!

Story:

15 year old Chloe Saunders is a lot like any other teenage girl. She goes to a school for the arts and plans on becoming a director. It starts out like any other day, with Chloe arguing with her house keeper, going to school, but it ends with her in the hospital, raving about the dead janitor that was chasing her through the halls of her high school. The school won't let Chloe return until she spends at least two weeks in a house for troubled teens. Chloe's aunt, being a nurse, finds one right away: Lyle House. She is sent there right away and quickly diagnosed with schizophrenia, but, even with her medication, Chloe is still seeing things, a disembodied hand, and a flickering outline of a man in the basement. With the help of some of the other kids at Lyle House, Chloe learns that she's not schizophrenic, she's a necromancer. In other words, she can see and communicate with ghosts. As she learns more about the place she's staying and her first encounters with ghosts, Chloe uncovers the terrifying truth about Lyle House.

This is an amazing book! It was one of those books that had me checking under the bed at night and jumping whenever I saw a shadow move. If you can handle the scary factor, I would definitely recommend this book. I give this a, like 100 out of 5... you won't be able to put it down!!!

Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

Hey! So, I'm home sick today and that gave me a chance to finish this TOTALLY AMAZING book!

Story:

It's closing in on the end of the school year and Nora and her friend Vee have, luckily, been biology partners for the whole year. Then Coach (that's what they call their teacher) decides to switch the seating chart, putting Nora next to the dark and mysterious Patch. She doesn't like Patch. She hates the intense way that he looks at her and the fact that he seems determined to cause her to fail their assignment, and then there's the fact that he seems bent on embarrassing her in front of the class. But at the same time that Nora despises her new partner, she is strangely drawn to him as well. Everywhere Nora goes, Patch is there, no matter where she is, he appears, even if she's purposely avoiding him. Things start getting even creepier when she starts hearing Patch's voice in her head and seeing things that later disappear. After Vee is attacked and Nora's house is broken into, suspicion, at least Vee's suspicion, turns to Patch, but Nora is determined that there is someone, or something, else out there.

I read this book in approximately two days, maybe a little bit less. It ensnares your attention and after you've been sucked in there's no stopping. I give this book, oh, probably ten out of five. Yes, it's that good. But I'll just put a warning out there, if you're already paranoid about stuff like stalkers you're going to have a hard time getting through this story without completely spazing out. But if you can handle the creepy factor, GO GET THIS BOOK RIGHT NOW!!!!!

Graceling by Kristin Cashore

Hey eveyone!!! This is the book we were supposed to read for book club this month. It was GREAT!

Story:

Katsa has been able to kill full grown men with her bear hands since she was eight it's her Grace. Her uncle, King Randa, uses her to carry out his dirty work, a.k.a. if someone disobeys him he sends Katsa to break their arm, cut off their fingers, etc. But Katsa, even though she was brought up doing horrible things for her uncle, likes to help people. She formed a group called The Counsel with her cousin and some of her friends, The Counsel spread all over the kingdoms, they have secret informants, places that allow them to stay after missions, and more. During one mission in which Katsa saves a kidnapped prince, she meets a boy who later shows up at her kingdom. He's a Lienid prince, and he want's Katsa's help. Together they go on an exciting journey to save an abused princess, kill a power-hungry king and do whatever good they can in between.

This is a very exciting book about survival, love, hate, and freedom, it keeps you on edge right up until the end! I fell in love with the characters instantly and ended up laughing and crying along with them throughout the entire story! I give this book a five out of five and recommend it to anyone who likes high speed adventure (and lots of fight scenes).

Frostbite by Richelle Mead

Hey! Alright, so this book is the second one in the Vampire Academy series (the first one is called, you guessed it, Vampire Academy). Anyway, I just finished it today and it was so good!

Story (since this is the second book, it is hard to write a summary without some spoilers... so, sorry....):

After a Strigoi (they're evil vampires) attack that wiped out a large chunk of one of the Moroi (another, much nicer, type of vampire) royal families the people at the Academy decide to take all of the students on a ski trip to a lodge owned by very wealthy Moroi. It was just as well protected as the Academy and might even keep the kids safer. But then, after a fight with one of her friends, Rose (main character) goes to a party with the Moroi who she is one day going to protect, Lissa, (Rose is a part of the third group of vamps called Guardians, they protect Moroi) and when she comes back, the friend she fought with and two of his friends have left the resort. Rose and Christian (Lissa's boyfriend) go after them and all five of them wind up face to face with Strigoi.

This is a fast paced story that grabs and holds your attention even after you've finished it! The characters are lovable and the plot is expertly written! I would give this book a five out of five stars and highly recommend it to everyone!

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

Hey, so this was the book we read for book club last month and it is totally and completely AMAZING! I thought it was going to have a horrible ending, but, as it turned out, it had like, the BEST ending ever, it's definitely one of my new favorite books!

Story:

When she was eleven, Grace was pulled off of her tire swing and into the woods by a pack of wolves. For some reason she's not afraid, she just lays there as the wolves bite and scratch her, until one wolf comes over. His eyes are a fascinating yellow and Grace stares into them, oblivious to everything going on around her. The wolf saves her and brings her back to her house. Now, every winter, the wolf reappears, he stands on the edge of the woods that surround Graces house and watches her, and she watches back. Her interest in the wolves becomes an obsession as the years pass, she imagines "her wolf" as she calls him as if he were a person. Each night she lays in bed and listens to them howl, picking out the low sound of her wolf and hanging onto it through the nights. But then a boy who goes to her school is killed by the wolves and a hunting party sets off to find and kill the pack. Grace runs into the woods, trying to find her wolf, to warn him of what is happening. The police find her and walk her to her house, but when she gets to the back porch, a boy is laying there, a bullet wound on his neck. It's her wolf, his name is Sam.

This was such a great book! I would rate at least five out of five!! Even though the story is about werewolves, it has a very believable plot line. I fell instantly in love with the characters and could hardly put the book down! If you have not already read this book, I would suggest getting it ASAP!!!

Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

Sorry that I haven't posted anything out here for a while :( but I just finished reading this book! It's the sequel to The Hunger Games and it was SO good!!

Story: (If you haven't read The Hunger Games this will contain spoilers...)

After becoming victors of the Hunger Games, Peeta and Katniss are moved into luxurious houses in the Victors Village where they get enough food to feed the district for a year in one week and everything else they could ever ask for. But halfway through the year, they have to tour all the districts because the Capitol wants everyone to see the winners of the Hunger Games. And President Snow spoke to Katniss in private, telling her that if she makes one mistake he'll have all the people she loves killed. As they tour the different districts odd events occur, in District 11 everyone makes a show of respect to Katniss (while in the Hunger Games, Katniss had sat with one of District 11's tributes while she died, covered her in flowers and gave her a show of respect in front of the cameras). When they get back to 12 Katniss over hears that an uprising has begun in one of the districts. As more of the story progresses, a horrible plot twist throws Peeta and Katniss into the middle of more Hunger Games trouble and an enormous uprising against the Capitol.

I could not put this book down! It was totally amazing. While I didn't like the cliff hanger ending, the rest of the book pulled me in and never let me go! The characters, like in the first book, were lovable, brave and just all around amazing! I would give this book at least 5 out of 5 stars, it was so good! If you haven't already read The Hunger Games I suggest you go get it ASAP!
